Location and general description

East and West Molsey occupy the southern bank of the Thames  upstream of Thames Ditton, Surrey. A little further still downstream lies Kingston-upon-Thames, Surrey.

Boyle Farm

Formerly called Fords, this was owned at one time by first the HATTON family and then the TASH family. It has been rebuilt since their occupation. A fuller history may be found in the Surrey Books section of the Molesey History site.

The HATTON family

William HATTON and his wife Cecilia (nee BREWSTER) lived at Fords. When William HATTON died Fords passed, under the terms of his Will, to his Uncle William HATTON of East Molesey whilst Cecilia was allowed to reside in the property for life. Cecilia remarried to William NUTHALL of Kingston upon Thames, Surrey. Upon his death she married again (Jan 1703/04), to Sir Henry Dutton COLT of St James, Westminster, Middlesex.

The TASH family

Hatton TASH junior (grandson of William HATTON's sister, Thomasin, who had married Sir George TASH) in herited Fords from his Great Uncle William HATTON.
