Saeling.
Buildings
Great Saling Hall
Great Saling has a fine hall, with adjacent church, that would have been
standing when the HICKS family were resident in nearby Bardfield
Saling, Essex.
At times the hall's gardens are open to the public.
People
The HICKS family
The entry for Great Saling in the 1848 White's Directory of
Essex lists one Charles HICKS of Woolpits under 'Farmers'. Charles was one of the descendants of William HICKS of Felsted, Essex, a village just to the south of Great Saling.
