The KIRBY family

In the 19th C the descendants of John Kirby and Judith KENNETT are to be found scattered across South Essex. John KIRBY (1765-1842) was part of that family, however in a poor law examination of 1805 he gave his age as 40 and birthplace as Gt Burstead, Essex.  By abt. 1788 he was working in Downham, Essex.

Other groups of KIRBYs in this area include the descendants of William KIRBY & Sarah INNIS.
