A miscellany of pictures and data arising out of research into the KIRBY's family trees (but not all linked to them). This is a work in progress so please treat the data with appropriate caution. For related information see www.the-kirbys.org.ukAncestor List, Place Index and Wills Index

Location and general description

A small Gloucestershire market town situated on the lower reaches of the River Coln just before it meets the Thames. It lies just 3 Km downstream from Quenington, Gloucs, and about 7 Km west of Lechlade on Thames, Glous. Today fairford is known for the neighbouring airbase RAF Fairford and the Cotswold Water Park, though it also contains the gem of St Mary's Church.

Buildings

St Mary’s Church

Renounded for posessing the completest set of medieval stained glass windows in the world (which the photographs below fail to do justice to).
