From her Marriage Certificate her father was George GREGORY, Labourer. From the 1861 Census and the marriage dates of George GREGORY her mother is assumed to be George's second wife Elizabeth (maiden name as yet unknown).

Birth

1861 Census suggests that this was about 1855 and at Stratton St Margaret, in the Highworth registration district. The probable registration is GREGORY, Hannah Maria,  Dec Quarter, 1854, Highworth, Vol 5a, Pg 5. 

Childhood and education

On the 1861 Census they are listed at Reeds Cottages, Stratton Green, Stratton St Margaret, nr Swindon, Wiltshire. At that time the family comprised:

On the 1871 Census she is listed at 1 London Street, New Swindon, Wiltshire. She is in service.
In the June Quarter of 1875 she registered the birth to her daughter Ellen Sharp GREGORY outside of wedlock. (Highworth, Vol 5a, Pg 8). Mother's name Hannah, Father's name not given. Highworth is just NE of Swindon so fits with 1901 census place of birth for Ellen which is given as Swindon. Family tradition held that Ellen was raised near Bath, Somerset.

Marriage

On 4 July 1875, at the Parish Church (St Mary Magdelene) in Langridge, Somerset, Hannah appears to have married John SHARP (GRO ref 1875 Sep Q, Bath, Vol 5c, Pg 971). The details of their marriage and very brief life together may be found in the biography of John Edmund SHARP.

Last Will and Testament

Unknown.

Death

No candidate for Hannah has been found on the 1881 Census and there is a death  for a Hannah SHARP, age 20, i.e born abt 1856, registered in the June Quarter 1876 at Bath, Somerset (Vol 5c pg 471). Therefore in 1876 Hannah appears to have died.
