His death appears to have been registered at Linton, Cambs, (registration district for Carlton) in the December Quarter of 1881 as James COOK, aged 79 (Vol 3b, pg 323). 

His wife Ann appears to have survived for a further twelve years, the remainder of her story may be found in the biography of Ann PRICKETT.
